I just found out about a french Android TV device, the Freebox Mini 4K (not a generic Android box).

I was looking through the Android TV wikipedia page and saw a sentence about some Android TV device made by a french ISP, from what I can tell from the company website and youtube reviews it appears to run a full Android TV interface rather than android with a crappy launcher like generic android boxes. It has a built in TV tuner too and is able to receive OTA channels fairly well which is surprising. The whole interface is in french and I'm not sure if it would even function without the ISP connection so in terms of usability it's not great.

I wouldn't swap it for my Shield any day but I thought it was interesting enough to share.

Free is quite the amazing isp actually they have always pushed the bounds of service for internet and were one of the first residential iptv services. You legally are allowed to enter in IP addresses for channels and use vlc to watch tv with them if you have internet through them. They also were the first to have 100mbit up and down internet in europe for $25 equivalent in euros back in early 2000s.

It's a rebranded Wetek box which is a legit Android TV box certified by Google that will play Netflix in 1080p mainly sold overseas

** Edit it's not the same box**

They sponsor Kodi as does Nvidia

the information is scarce, but I believe this runs proper AndroidTV (it's for Australia) http://oglebox.com.au

But it has DRM built in, so screw that

Are we sure it's really an Android TV device? One of the more recent Chinese boxes comes with a pretty good approximation, but it's not an official Android TV device.
