My Sony Bravia AndroidTV (xbr65x850c) keeps losing all wifi access. Anyone else experiencing this?

by snkscore

Quite often I go to use my Android TV Sony Bravia to find that it has no wifi connection. It's not that it's just lost it's connection to my router, but it's lost all Wifi capability. If I try to setup the wifi it doesn't see any wireless connections at all, when normally it sees a couple in my house plus several of our neighbors.

The only solution is to pull the power cord and have it power back up, then it goes back to normal and everything works as expected.

I have the same tv but in 55". Same problem. Have to go into settings>info> and hit restart for it to show up. I've switched to a network cable instead.

Same problem with my Philips 32PFK5500/12

I have the TV and haven't experienced this issue.

You could try to set the TV up with a static IP in your routers settings via the TV's MAC address. I imagine this would help with everything but an actually hardware issue and it doesn't sound like a hardware issue if rebooting it fixes the issue.

If that doesn't work and your router is far from where your TV is then I would suggest using power line adapters to ethernet your tv to the network. It's a work around, not a fix.

And don't pull the power cord anymore. That's not a great way to power cycle. Instead hold the power button on the touch pad remote for 10 seconds and that will force the OS to reboot.

I have two sony tv's (49" 4k and 75" 1080p) and both do this and it infuriates me to no end.

Maybe try disabling beam forming on your router if it is enabled - I know some android devices don't play nice with this feature.

I have a Sony KD-65XD8505 and had the same problem, -edit- scratch that.. setting the network to static did not help either it is come back again. :(

What is weird on my TV it does say it has an IP and is connected to the router just no internet connection after wake up from standby. But when i ping the ip i cannot reach it.

When I switch from static to dhcp or otherway around it does connect again :( super annoying but better then restarting.

I have had the same issue, lost WiFi, lost time. I would reset from remote to get the time back right but to get wifi to connect properly and be able to cast anything to it required a power cord pull. Now with the latest update things seem to be working properly again
