Casting chrome tabs to my Sony TV from my macbook used to work.

Now it don't. For some reason YouTube casting from chrome works fine, but no other tabs. It just says "can't find any cast units".

Any ideas? I have tried to reinstall and followed the google troubleshooting. I can't cast from my ipad either. Is there any way to restart the inbuilt chromecast?

There's the Cast Receiver app. Try manually force stopping and starting the app, or uninstall and sideload an earlier version from when it did work.

I'm not sure why google seems to treat android tv as a second class citizen compared to the chromecast. On my TV the casting functionality has never been consistent and i just flat out stopped using it for anything except youtube.
