How do you add app shortcuts to the leanback launcher menu?

by jay_samuel

I've heard of App Cloner to enable Leanback Launcher support in apps so they show up as icons in the launcher. Some apps don't work however, such as Chrome. Is there a better way?

I use Sideload Launcher for any app that doesn't have a TV variant.

Nope.

Only other way would be the unzip the APK and alter the Android Manifest and add in the Leanback Support so it shows up. There's a post on XDA with a guy that does a ton of these on Google+.

You use the voice search and say "Google open Chrome" or you can download the leanback Google Shortcut called gcleanleanshortcut
