I have an antenna, and a shield tv, but HD Homeruns are expensive :(
I don't need/want a DVR function, I have hulu plus and everything I want to watch that's OTA goes up there anyway

Unfortunately there are no USB tuners available. I'm not even sure that functionality is possible on Android TV yet.
It would be nice though.
FYI... HD homerun will get DVR soon... beta works fairly well.
Also there is an add-on with plex so you can stream your cable to your phone anywhere in the world. It isn't an official plugin, so you have to manually install it.
Quite a few ebay sellers with an ATSC microusb tuner selling for under $30. US based source here http://www.ebay.com/itm/ATSC-Android-TV-Tuner-Digital-Receiver-Micro-USB-ATSC-TV-Stick-For-Android-Phone-/152045597419?hash=item23669fb2eb:g:pGMAAOSwy5ZXBmW8 You may need a microusb-->USBA adapter and your USB port must support OTG. You will also need an adapter if you want to use your normal antenna. The connector on tuner is called MCX Decent app found on playstore allows changing channels and a modicum of PVR functionality.
The Tablo also exists and it works for Android TV. It has more tuners so more people can watch at the same time, but it's also not cheap.
