Camera for sideloaded hangout?

by infomofo

I have an Nvidia Shield TV in my living room.

I would love to be able to use a camera like the logitech usb camera directly with the nvidia shield and sideload the hangouts app - even if I had to use the mouse to control the hangouts app it would be cool to be able to do video chats on my couch like that.

Has anyone tried this? Just want to know before I invest the money and time.

I haven't tried it but, https://www.tellybean.com/ is an alternative.

There was a ROM that ran a "fuller" (a mixture of Google Play Services, Side loading, full Play Store, and Leanback) version of Android and people were doing that but it was pulled. I haven't tried it with stock. That would be so cool though and needs to happen.

I would probably just cast my screen on my mobile device. Free, simple, and works rather well.
