Hi there i really need help if you can, i have a mxq pro box and i tried upgrading the firmware and now when it starts up it just goes to the bootloader screen, it says at the top left corner of the bootloader the version as 20160305 which i can't find anyware to flash, on the actual board it says the version is 20160118_v02 and the wifi chip is ap6181
We deal with boxes that run the Android TV OS in this subreddit. Your box runs a custom version of the Android OS. I don't even think /r/Android would help either, unfortunately. You're stuck asking the OEM for help with those janky TV boxes.
Even though the Shield TV is the only box available right now, it's also still the best option out there period for Set Top Boxes. Nvidia created a monster TV Streaming Box.
Wrong sub unfortunately, flashing a factory image of the box might fix it but the variation in builds and components of generic boxes makes it difficult for us to help. This sub is more about "official" android tv devices that you can view in the sidebar.
