Also, a key note in the original article:
Additional apps launching on Android TV from Disney/ABC Television Group will be coming soon.
They did a real good job with the video quality, it's night and day above watching ESPN on SlingTV.
Your turn NBC Sports Live Extra
This is amazing. Can't wait for the VUDU app to drop soon as well.
Awesome news I can finally unplug the Roku and free up an additional port it was the only reason I still used it
So it's actually the ESPN App in the Play Store, not the Watch ESPN App. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.espn.score_center
Shows up as "Watch ESPN" in Leanback.
Have fun!
God this is so great. I've been using a side loaded version of the phone app to watch LSU games. It works fine that way. But it's sort of a hassle.
Now we need this as a Live Channels source!!!! (I'm really trying not to be greedy!)
Haven't been to the Google play store on Shield TV lately. Needless to say I SAS very sunrises and happy this morning when I looked. ESPN and Spotify woo!
This is great news. Thanks for sharing. Not big on ESPN myself (we switched to the beta Sling package over Disney) but this is a huge win for Android TV.
Does anyone know if we will be able to watch the Olympics through this?
Awesome. All I need now is Spotify and I'm pretty happy.
Now I just need MLS live and NBC Sports and I'll be in heaven.
Installed the app on my Nexus Player through a web browser. The play store says the ESPN app is installed on my Nexus Player, however there is no sign of the app on the device. Can anyone help me? I have restarted the device multiple times.
Shizamm, just in time for the rest of the NBA playoffs!! Thanks ESPN
Ok, can some kind person please show me how to install this on the Shield TV? Shows not available in the play store for my shield TV. Bummer.
Edit: Solved I think. Didn't realize I needed the ESPN app as a prerequisite to the WatchESPN.
It's out of stock everywhere, including on the Google store. Hope this means a new one is announced this week.
