No ethernet

(1) USB 2.0

I am a fan of wireless AC, but not having ethernet as an option is silly. And USB 2.0 is just insulting

This things price better reflect its...exclusions.

There's no need to hate on USB 2.0. It's is perfect for lower cost box. The new Ultra HD Blu-ray (4k HDR) spec can stream at a maximum of 108mbps which is the highest bitrate I've seen for media. USB 2.0 provides 480mbps. Adding USB 3.0 or higher would just add to the cost without getting end users much benefit. Us power users have the Shield. This box will hopefully be perfect to recommend to our non-power user friends.

I wish there was more storage. 8GB could be filled up with apps alone. I don't see non-power users adding external storage.

IR? Using a universal remote is a must, to me, for android TV. Makes it feel like a part of your TV and not some other device you're just using.

Well at least the NP proved that it can be added via update. I better tell Nick to hunt down Hugo and annoy him!

Will this be able to bitstream/pass through HD audio at full surround sound?

This is pretty much a very minimal upgraded nexus player.. brings nothing new to the table
