I'm looking for an android box to further my cord cutting. I'm looking for an android box that allows access to a wide array of sports. I ran across an application called SPORTS DEVIL that was installed on a box. I'm trying to watch US college football...perhaps some UFC and want to make the best choice. Can any suggest how I can get educated about the various boxes...their capabilities....SPORTS DEVIL availability in those boxes.....and the ability to add future new applications. Thanks in advance.
Hi, welcome to /r/AndroidTV. This sub typically refers to official Android TV devices (see the sidebar). This isn't really the place for the discussion of generic android boxes but I figured you're owed an answer. Sports Devil is an addon often installed on an application called Kodi which is bundled with most generic chinese boxes, it allows for illegal streaming of live sports events and such. Kodi, Sports Devil and all the streaming addons bundled with generic boxes are free and easy to install which has created a market for chineses companies to ship cheap tablet motherboards in boxes to make a profit.
If you're interested in the (illegal) addons avaliable for Kodi you should try looking in /r/addons4kodi, they'll be a lot more friendly than we are.
If you're interested in the actual boxes (the generic crappy ones) I'd reccomend looking in the following sites:
http://freaktab.com
http://mbox.co.za/forum/
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android-tv
If you're looking for the best possible experience though, Most people on this sub will tell you to buy a Nvidia Shield and install Kodi and the Addons manually (honestly it's well worth it). Kodi, Sports Devil and all the other streaming addons are free and widely avaliable. Official Android TV devices also have access to several legal alternatives in full HD and are significantly more reliable and supported.
