I sideloaded an international TV channel's app to my Shield TV that I typically use on my phone to stream live video of that channel. When I tried to play that live stream on the Shield, I got an error message saying that the Shield cannot play the video. I am assuming that I am missing something, maybe another app like VLC? Can you guys think of what I could do to resolve this issue?
most of those apps are pretty rough in code, made for android 4.4.4 and older, and most are in a grey area of legality.
I tried running a japanese tv one on my phone/bluestacks without luck, but it finally worked on an old samsung tablet.
I doubt you will have much luck getting any working on androidtv
