[Shield TV Users] What games are you using to Gamestream?

by Andrroid

I just built a new pc and am finally taking more advantage of game stream. There are a few older games that I never played through that I will finally work my way through, but I am curious what other games people have had success with.

What games are you playing? What games work well with multiple controllers? What not officially supported games have you found to work well when manually added?

Thanks!

Rocket League! Has splitscreen multi controller support too. Tho make sure if you try it you didn't accidentally leave a wired xbox controller plugged into the PC doing the streaming or it screws with things.

Also - you can use the shield TV controllers as wired PC controllers if you just plug them into the PC with a USB cable.

I've also played DOOM, Fallout 4, Waves (small game on steam) and a few others.

Another fun trick, if you manually add this program: "C:\Windows\System32\mstsc.exe" to the streamable apps in GeForce Experience, and name it "Remote Desktop" then you can just stream the desktop itself. Use a bluetooth keyboard and mouse and you get your full desktop on the tv.

I'm using Gamestream to Launch into Steam, where i generally can play all games that are "Controller Supported" according to Steam fine, as well as some other games (Have a wireless keyboard/mouse connected as a backup since i regularily also use Moonlight and because Onscreen Keyboard usage sucks).

Since i've given up on the notion that i could run Gamestream stable without dragging a long LAN cable from my Router to my livingroom/Shield TV, i'm playing the current DOOM via Gamestream, which works a lot better than you'd think.

Witcher 3 (GoG Version)

Dragon Age: Inquisition

Rocket League - Need to try this one... I usually play it via SteamLink or SteamOS.

I also usually play using a wireless Xbox 360 controller since the Shield Controller has such a large dead band on the right stick.

Generally everything I have I play over GameStream. I've mostly been playing Saints Row 4 recently. Rise of the Tomb Raider was another but around a certain part of the game, the in game performance drops to shit, and the GameStream performance is atrocious as well. It's quite possibly that I played fully on my computer itself.

Emulators work fine as well, you know. I usually have Dolphin running some Wii games that don't require motion controls. You can do GameCube as well, but Dolphin for Android seems to run GameCube games pretty well. See Crazy Taxi for example: https://youtu.be/0CpPUhw_Nog

Dark Souls for one.

Rocket League, Stardew, Arkham Asylum lately... I have Dolphin hooked up as well to launch from Steam and that works pretty well

The only one I can't get to work is Castlevania Mirror Of Fate HD. Any time I fire it up, I either get a pure black or white screen and the game sounds. Wonder what's up with that?

My setup lags too much to play. I'm swapping my SLI 780s for a 1080 when it arrives. I hope that will fix my issues.
