I'm located in Canada, just got the nvidia shield tv and i love it. But i dont want to have to buy a new hdd or micro sd just to sideload a bunch of apps. I want to have access to the US google play store to get hulu plus, wwe network, etc....
Anyone from outside the US was able to get the google play store working? how did you do it? which vpn service did you use? Can any of the vpn services available in the android tv Canadian google play store (unlimited vpn, vypr vpn, droidvpn) do the trick?

So i got it to work! Here's how i made it work for anyone wondering in the future:
I Used VPN Unlimited (right now they have one month "pay what you want which is pretty cool), they have an app available on the canadian (probably UK and AUS as well) android tv google play store. so heres how i got it to work:
1.i logged in with my regular google account, downloaded VPN Unlimited from the canadian google play store on my shield.
2.had a friend from the US create a new google account for me, using my email as a recovery address (IMPORTANT!) and their own US phone number to confirm the account (ALSO IMPORTANT!)
3.i opened vpn unlimited, created an account and logged in (the missouri vpn worked for me) to the vpn connection.
4.i deleted my personal google account on the nvidia shield going to settings->google account->remove
5.i logged in to the account my friend had just created for me, it asked me to confirm by sending a code through sms to his phone. friend gave me the code and i confirmed the account.
6.i then had to login to vpn unlimited on my macbook (they also have a windows and android phone app) and go to http://accounts.google.com , login to the new account, confirm it with my recovery email, and change my friends phone number to mine (doesnt matter if its a canadian number at THIS point.)
7.back on my nvidia shield, i now had access to the US google play store. was able to download pluto tv, hbo now, wwe network, hulu plus etc etc without any issues!
