So i have a slightly annoying issue was hoping someone else might have a solution to. My current setup (ShieldTV) uses SPMC launcher version as my home screen. Everything is run off of that. I've created links to the native android apps for things like MLB.TV or the Live Channels app and start them straight from SPMC. If you press the home button it goes straight back to SPMC.
Now heres the problem (which only started recently because it used to work) If I am out of SPMC for a long time (like watching MLB.TV) when I press home it boots up SPMC like it was starting it for the first time. Originally no matter how long I was out of it I would press home and the menu would just pop right up because SPMC was still running in the background (kinda like just alt-tabbing).
Yes its a little issue but the 30 seconds it now takes to go back to SPMC is annoying since it use to take less than 1 second.
Any one experience this type of issue or can give any help would appreciate. Thanks!
Oh and I've already tried clearing cache it did nothing.
It sounds like a lot of stuff is going on if it takes 30 seconds for SPMC/Kodi to start up. That might be why it's getting closed in the background. If it's using too much RAM, and another app needs that RAM, Android will kill it. If there's enough RAM to go around, apps don't need to shut down (normally).
Another possibility, there are some other apps or background processes that are running at the same time, which could also eat into how much free memory is available.
