The true All-in-one media device I have ever used.

by SpoonFed276

I have been using my Shield TV religiously everyday since October and it seems like maybe once a month I find a new use to use it. more recently I set up a Plex server on my PC. Here is a list of everything I use currently:

-Pandora -Hulu -Netflix -HBO Now -Twitch -Play Music (payed) -Plex -Spotify -Crackle (only if I have to) -Emulators (N64, PSX, GBA, NES) -Kodi

And one of my favorite features is I purchased the HDHomerun cable card device so I can use Live Channels to stream my Xfinity live tv subscription to my device as well.

I also use the Game stream feature for my PC games when my friends are over for couch parties.

The only other box I have plugged into my TV is my PS3 to play my blurays and we all know why that is... Is anyone aware of any Bluray playing software or a simple Bluray ripping software that I can possibly use in conjunction with Plex?

So if anyone has any questions as to my setup or if anyone could give me some suggestions to maybe something I could add that you use your Android TV for let me know. Entertainment setups is one of my favorite hobbies and I'm always looking to learn more.

Makemkv will let you rip blu rays in your computer, handbrake for compression.

Then you'll probably going to like it even more if you only setup a plex server recently the next patch 3.2 coming this month will give you a plex server built in the shield.

Looks like it can handle 2-3 1080p 8Mbps streams

FYI there's a couple different addons for watching Crackle through KODI if you hate the UI as much as I do.

Can you elaborate on the cable card thing? I have Comcast and they basically force you to pay for TV by making it cheaper. It would be nice to actually take advantage of that.
