Trying to take on Kodi? Good luck with that.
More competition in the market is never a bad thing (even though Kodi is free ofc).
This performs an entirely different purpose to Kodi. What Kodi does through Plugins, this is doing natively. Many people seem to forget that Kodi was not originally a streaming platform and was meant for indexing and playing locally stored or network stored (READ: not online) content. It only gained the ability to stream content when people started writing plugins for it that did so, this project appears to be performing the same function as those streaming plugins do, only it's doing so natively by itself.
In short, It's not taking on Kodi, it's in a class all it's own and should be treated as such, Kodi is a media interface that does a completely different job. While it won't replace Kodi for most people, I could see it possibly complimenting it instead.
Two kinds of people use Kodi.
People with giant collections. Either through pirating (mostly) or ripping themselves (liars)
People who don't know how to properly pirate and use shitty streaming plug-ins.
This addresses neither.
Meh, doesn't seem to talk about indexing or playing local content. Won't be replacing Kodi for most people.
