Advice needed: replacement for AMLogic based box.

by Cyl0n_Surf3r

So I currently have a Keedox MX3 Android TV box. It's not bad but I had problems playing anything other than 16:9 content in Kodi (streamed from NAS), it basically stretches anything that isn't 16:9 to fill the screen. I'm aware that you can disable the AMLogic option under the video acceleration options and it resolves the aspect ratio issues but introduces audio sync issues with 5.1 content and introduces occasional jerking during playback.

I read these issues are due to it being an AMLogic based device and the problem is not resolvable outside of what I already mentioned above.

Basically I'm looking to replace the unit with something better that isn't AMLogic based. My only real requirement is that the device supports optical out, DD5 1, DTS and Ethernet out. Well and Kodi of course. Does anyone have any suggestions? I've looked and looked but really stumped as what are the current better devices.

Cheers

You're in the wrong subreddit. In here, we deal with devices that run the Android TV platform. Your box runs an Android OS build.

Try /r/settopboxes or /r/AndroidSetTopBox

Mi Box (coming soon) + USB ethernet or Nvidia Shield.
