Awesome news! I got a Shield over the weekend and the lack of Netflix search is so far the only disappointing thing.
After switching from iPhone to Android for my phone (Nexus 5X), I'm thinking I'll also switch from Apple TV to Android TV. Can anyone confirm which of the following apps support universal search and system recommendations on Android TV? Hulu, Showtime, HBO Now, Crackle, PBS, TubiTV. Thanks for any input!
Google needs to add the ability to save universal searches to Android TV. All your search results cards would be kept together in a list and automatically re-updated whenever opened to reflect any changes in the apps that the show/movie is available in. Saved Searches would in effect act as a universal watchlist, which would be a very nice feature to have. See, in one place, all the series you're currently watching and all the films you've been thinking of checking out, choose what you're in the mood for and then click through to whichever app is currently playing it.
What does this mean .. voice search and recommendations on the home screen?
Didn't they say voice search was in their last update? And that has still yet to happen.
