PSA: you can open webpages in chrome from the home screen

by Humpsel

So I don't know if I'm the first to figure this out, but I found it too awesome not to tell you about it, so here it goes. I just tried to search for 'Reddit' on the home screen of my Shield where I have chrome sideloaded and something very cool happened. In the results there actually was a tile for reddit.com! When I clicked it, chrome opened on the reddit Frontpage and I could start browsing. Okay after some more trying out, it seems the tiles of chrome only appear when I search for a website, say reddit, Facebook and only if you have visited the website before on the Shield... So, reddit opened, since I visited it before, but Wikipedia wouldn't open. Anyway, I hope google expands this and just gives the normal search results by voice, however for now, this is quite awesome.

Yep I have been doing that as well. It's a nice feature to have.

Isn't that just a feature of the Google search that has existed for agee?

If Google Home was to be integrated with ATV.. lord

Nice tip. Now if one could remove the Google Play Movies section in the universal search, that would be great. Deactivating the app doesn't help unfortunately.

Basically it's spam/advertisment I don't want to see.
