I put it on my Nexus Player. It opens via sideload launcher but I don't have an account so I can't tell if the interface works with the remote or not, but it will run.

edit: A user on Android Police just posted a video of it running on his Shield TV.

I saw this and pushed to my Shield, but I'm not at home. The launch announcement doesn't mention TV devices. It specifically says phones and tablets, so I'm wondering if the device compatibility is a mistake.

It does mention it can be cast I don't see why it wouldn't work

According to Android Police it doesn't work on Android TV.

Can someone explain something to me. So its available just on mobile devices as far as android right? From what I understand you have to be tied to a specific wireless network right? So they want me to pay 35 bucks to use a streaming service that can only be used at my home on my mobile devices?

ugh, app rooted devices. If you are rooted, you will get a message saying its not available on your device.

It works with either a keyboard and mouse or the controller and the side loaded app launcher.

It works "ok". I will say though that it is amazingly fast compared to the real interface on the FireTV.

Yes, and no. I have a Sony Bravia android tv (x700d), and I was able to sideload the playstation vue app. (Go to Google play store on computer, tell it to install on your tv. Then search for the sideload launcher and Install that too. It's an app that let's you start non-android tv apps.) [There are some youtube videos for how to do this on shield but they don't explain it all that well, and one uses a questionable install technique, you can just use Google's play store from any pc]

However, I couldn't control Playstation vue with my remote control, or the android tv remote control app by google... But using the Sony Sideview app's remote control (the mouse version), then I was able to control it... finally. (It's a better remote app for my use anyway - guide for over the air tv and easy channel switching through guide) [ so use of a Bluetooth mouse type option should be fine]

But, see here's the thing: This is not an Android TV optimized app... That's why it takes the extra effort to get it installed and to launch it... some will have a really crappy experience, even if others take to it fine.

In comparison, I can also chromecast from the playstation vue app on my android phone, and so either way I'm pretty much using my phone as a remote, so it's really up to you to decide which you like better.

Hopefully a real android tv optimized app will also come out, but these cord cutting solutions are all pretty young in their national rollouts.

Fire tv, ps3, and ps4 offer the full client and are kind of required to get started. Roku tv has a limited client that I'm not fond of, and that can't create multiple profiles (it can use them, if created on a full interface device.) [But roku just isn't as nice... and roku tv (I hear) doesn't yet have the 7.1 or whatever version vue requires.)

Also, dont forget to play Path Of Exile.
