Its not really great instruction and easy to miss if you are excitedly pushing forward to get this thing running. I have seen quite a few people confused about how to manage the server/add libraries within the Android TV app. You need to go to the web UI to manage the server. Most of the settings are well documented on plex's website and /r/plex can help you with any questions you might have.

I believe there are a few setup videos that have been posted on youtube as well. Be sure to check them out if you are new/confused.

Thank you for posting this. I would have certainly opened Plex on the Shield TV and looked for config options.

Whoa, you need a Plex account to configure your Plex server? Does Plex Server need a constant internet connection just to stream across my LAN?

Question. I haven't tried this yet, but can you still access the Plex Server Web UI by using the IP Address of the Shield and Port: 32400?

So I've had Plex running on a desktop for quite a while. Decided to make the switch to a Shield, however, I have myself in a bit of a loop.

I had everything going smoothly, then on the web UI I decided to "force" https to the Shield server via settings...

Since then, I can't connect to the web UI at all. Neither through the local address or through the plex.tv interface. If i try connecting via https (both via the local IP and the plex.tv interface), it shows that the server can't be reached securely. Though if I try connecting locally via IP (insecurely) it throws an error that I've received and empty request from the server. Any idea how to get around this and force the https back to preferred?

Also, the Android app via my phone will connect no problem via local (the only thing that can contact the server), but if I try to connect via cell service it isn't allowing a connection.

Any ideas?
