Podcasts from Nvidia Shield Plex Server to Nexus 5X

If you've already got Pocket Casts why not just use it? It'll sync your subscriptions and play progress across devices and manages all of the artwork, metadata, etc.

By default it has one tap downloading and makes you press the little menu button on each podcast to stream, but if you go into playback settings you can tell it to replace the download button with a play button for default streaming.

And if you want offline access to any podcasts you can create a filter for them that'll auto download and manage how many it keeps so as not to use too much storage. It will also automatically delete them after they're played.

I was working on a method to have the Plex server on my Shield automatically download podcasts and be able to serve them up to my remote devices. This is what I have so far that gets me about 80% of the way, but isn't perfect. I sideloaded Pocket Cast on my Shield, set it to autodownload, and then pointed Plex to the pocketcast download folder (as a music folder). It works and I can listen from my 5X, but some of the podcasts names don't get recognized by Plex and it categorizes them as unknown. It will still serve them up, but puts them into an "unknown album" folder. Also, some of the recognized podcasts list the show, but instead of having detail about the episode will just have a long filename of the podcast i.e. fs949492ims.

My tablet and 5X both have pretty low storage (16 gigs) so having this method is working pretty well for me. Is anyone else doing something like this? I'd like to figure out a perfect method that captures all the podcast info.
