New Tegra Chip out in August

What could this mean for Android Tv? I don't think the current chip on the Shield has been fully utilized yet.

Sounds like a nice upgrade but I dunno what it can do that the X1 can't for Android TV. This might be more of a gaming-focused upgrade. I could see them using it in a gaming-focused box but I wouldn't know how well that'd sell or what price point they'd need to hit. $199 for a current X1 Shield TV means either this new box comes in around $250-$300 which is too close to actual game consoles, or they drop the price of the Shield TV by $50-$100.

(These are all just guesses.)

I think they could shelve this chip for another year and still get by with what they have. Or wait for a more power-efficient chip for mobile devices so they can update the tablet and portable.
