Hi, has anyone had any issues with casting to shield? Sometimes it workd flawlessly, but most of the times I am not able to cast. I can see Shield as a casting destination on my phone but I cannot connect to it. I have tried two separate phones and two separate apps (Youtube and Google photos).
Happened sometimes on my Sony, too. Had to reboot to fix it. AndroidTV bug, i think.
I haven't had any. Is your Shield Wired or Wireless? Is it using 5G? I've had issues sometimes when my phone is on my 2.4ghz wifi band while the shield is on my 5ghz band.
I have this issue... once a monthish? I just uninstall reinstall and it works flawlessly! (for a month or 2, then repeat)
Ok quick update: I just uninstalled updates to cast receiver app and then it could finally connect. I believe it was on the latest version. Are you guys also on the latest version of the app?
It's a few days I can't cast to shield... I bought the shield July 9, and everything worked fine then suddenly the cast receiver feature stopped working.
I've tried Uninstalling the update of Google cast receiver app, disable /enable but it s never showing up
Spotify connect work fine, android TV remote too.
I just got a SHIELD TV to replace my Chromecast and I'm having this issue. SHIELD is wired and unable to receive casts without uninstalling the latest Cast update. Quite frustrating.
It could be your router. Some routers (such as ones rented from your ISP) are shit and do a poor job of letting Chromecast protocol from working right.
Google your router model and Chromecast and see if anything comes up.
