When I'm done listening to Pandora and I want to watch a movie, I tried switching directly to Plex (without stopping the music) and start a movie but the music kept playing over the movie. I assumed the AndroidTV platform would know enough to stop Pandora. Am I doing something wrong?
I wanted to circle back and update you guys that I was only able reproduce this issue with the unsanctioned amazon video on demand app I side-loaded. Netflix and Plex both stopped playback of the music when a video was selected. I'm going to chalk this up to just using an app that wasn't necessarily designed to be run on the Nvidia Shield.
Does your home screen acknowledge that music is playing? Should be the first square on the top row, and animated.
Everything pauses Google Play Music properly for me, but I haven't used other music apps.
I had a similar problem with Google music.
Pandora might have a setting to not allow music in background so check the settings but here is a workaround:
Go to settings, then apps, find Pandora, click on it and force close the app.
Could be a bug with Pandora or Plex not properly using media playback controls.
