I have an Nvidia Shield (16gb) and want to use it as a Plex server, while having a Raspberry Pi add media to the server with Sonarr/Couchpotato and run it with PlexPY/Plexrequests.
At the moment, I have the Pi setup so all of the media is stored on a 5TB HDD attached to my Asus router, and I am able to connect to this via the Shield over WiFi. However, when the Shield sleeps, the connection to the router's drive is lost, and I am unable to stream shows.
To fix this, I have resorted to running PMS on the Pi, but it is not powerful enough to handle serious transcoding, and defeats the purpose of having a Shield for a Plex server.
Has anyone found a fix to network drives disconnecting during sleep or after a certain period of time?
You don't want to turn sleep mode off, right? I believe you do that by setting the idle time before sleep to "Never" somewhere in the settings. I can't really think of any other solution but I don't use Plex or Usenet.
