That's the international version that is already for sale in China.
Any thoughts on how long it might be before Xiaomi rolls out an Android TV 7.0 update for the Mi Box after it's released? It looks to me like Xiaomi has made the most minimal of modifications to the Android TV homescreen UI -- I think they only added one row of default apps or something. So hopefully it will take them no time to tweak stock Android TV releases for their hardware. If Android 7.0 is released on 8/22, maybe Xiaomi will have an update ready for the new Mi Box to auto-download when the first units are sold 5-6 weeks later. I'm hoping to take advantage of the OTA DVR features in Android TV 7.0...
$126.13 regular price?
Whelp. I guess that ends the discussion, unless this is speculative pricing still...
Will the Mi Box 3 be backwards compatible with receivers that are not HDMI 2.0?
Wonder how this will compare to the Asus Nexus Player ? Sometimes I find my Nexus a little sluggish when exiting apps, Kodi, etc.. Is the 1gb of memory the bottleneck?
Hopefully it'll go down in price to something like $50, which boxes with the same specs are going for in China. If not, I'll wait for something with better value or just get a Shield TV.
I'm currently traveling with a FireTV stick. When it has solid internet it works great, when the internet is flaky not so much, and the lack of a USB port sucks as well. I tried a Shield TV - remote wasn't reliable and somehow HDMI-CEC isn't understood by Nvidia. Hoping this box will be the solution.
I'm ready to pre order. Preferably from Amazon or something
