Shield TV connection issue.

Hey everyone. My Shield tv has, out of nowhere, begun to fail playback at random times and then nothing else will work. Applications open but don't load. I've tried resetting my wifi, restarting the Shield multiple times and checking different apps.

For example, I'll be watching a YouTube video and it stops playing after a few minutes. I get an error along the lines of "connection to server was lost." Then after that, even other apps won't work. Wifi strength states good or excellent. This has been happening for days now. Also, backdrop will not load pics like it would on a Chromecast. It goes black and the Shield goes fully to sleep after short inactivity.

Has anyone had this problem?

Are any other wifi devices in your home having connectivity issues?

Does your wifi router have both 2.4 and 5ghz bands? If it does, try connecting the Shield to the other band.

Is it possible to temporarily hook the Shield up via Ethernet to see if the problem persists?

I had this problem recently, out of the blue. Narrowed it down to when my 5ghz Wifi move over to a different channel, seems the Shield becomes unhappy when the channel goes over number 48. I fixed the channel to 40 on my router and since then all has been fine again.
