New NVIDIA Shield remote passes through the FCC

Maybe we'll get some good sales on the original remote. I've been tracking them for a while. $50 is a little steep for me.

Who thought a smaller remote would be a good idea?

Hopefully the new remote is compatible with the original shield. I hate almost everything about the current remote.

Are you fucking kidding me.

Make it normal remote sized with a decent battery. This is such a fail.

If there is a new Shield TV they should use the opportunity to update the HDMI ports to 2.0b and add the chips needed for Dolby Vision and Atmos (assuming that needs a special chip too). The new controller makes sense because it removes the touchpad which the Shield TV strangely doesn't use even thought it DOES emulate a mouse with the right stick. I still don't understand that logic. Not sure what they are going to do about the headset jack though. Bluetooth still doesn't support stereo audio and microphone at the same time. Maybe they have a proprietary protocol for that?

I read that the processor that powers the current Nvidia Shield TV is what will also power the upcoming Nintendo NX console. Perhaps Nvidia is rolling out an updated version of the Shield TV with a different processor to ensure they have a sufficient supply for Nintendo?
