Has anyone found a use for the ForgeTV yet?

by fienen

Don't tell me I was stupid for getting one. At the time I got it, everything was sunshine and roses still. All this time later, I have no clue why I'm not throwing it on Craigslist. The official forums completely freaking baffle me with their lack of Razer presence and actual support. And I don't mean user support, I mean product support.

And the worst part is, there doesn't appear to be any sort of dev community around it. Has anyone done anything really useful with the ForgeTV yet? Custom ROMs? Fixed the app/storage issues? Or should I get what I can out of it while I can and run as far away as possible? I hate to let a vendor spoil the experience, but man, it's really turned me off to the whole Android TV ecosystem. It seems like it's worse, and more fragmented than the cell phone community. I've suffered early adopter syndrome before, but this feels like I'm actively being punished for thinking it'd be a good investment in the long run.

I hear they make great doorstops. That's what I use my boxee for now.

I use it every day with kodi, using the cec function of my tv or the official android tv remote app. Works perfect. I also use it some times to play games ( never alone ki edition, fifa 16, sine Mora, etc) with my ipega 9025 gamepad...works nice too.

I dunno what you're asking here. What changed where you became unhappy with it?

Of course it's worse than the mobile Android ecosystem. It's considerably newer and still establishing itself.
