I'm keeping an eye on this one , looks amazing
I'll be surprised if this costs less than $20k
Once bigger Oled TVs become at least a bit cheaper it's the first thing I am going to buy. Still very happy with my current Sony 65" but it's insane what a difference an OLED panel makes in terms of colours.
The main problem with OLED is the peak brightness. UHD HRD really states it should have a peak brightness of 1000nit. This, like most OLED currently on the market, only get to about 500/600nit. Which is great, but also means content above that might get clipped. Also, OLED have problem with clipping at lower light levels. I know Panasonic was showing off their new reference OLED screen that should solve alot of these issues. I have an older Philips TV, but it has a Full Array Local LED. Even though it's 4ish years old, still has a peak brightness of 600nit and 0nit on black thanks to the local array. I do love my Ambilight on it, but if I was to buy a screen now I'd buy a Panasonic DX900 and add a DreamScreen or the likes to add Ambilight.
Pity their software is rubbish.
