Controlling side-loaded touchscreen-only apps

by McStroyer

I just side-loaded the UKTV Play app on my 2015 Brava, but all I can do is scroll. Is there another way I can replicate touches, e.g. with a bluetooth mouse?

How about an Android Remote app for my smartphone?

you can try CetusPlay remote app on your smart phone. It the best remote app for now and IT IS FREE.

A mouse should work fine to control most touch apps, so try a Bluetooth air mouse.

The Nvidia Shield ATV also has something where you can use the right stick on a game pad to control the mouse pointer when in non-Android TV apps as long as you're updated to Marshmallow. I don't know if this is a general Android TV thing, or a Shield specific tweak.

Edit: wait does the TV run Android?

You can use your phone as a touch pad with droidmote app, the server app for the Android TV is like 99¢ or something that's it and you're good to go, works as a game controller mouse, keyboard and I think it does voice input but I don't remember
