Android TV set for an older HDTV- DVI only

by Strider-SnG

So here is the the deal. Back in 2003 my dad built a nice home theatre room. Sound insulation in the walls, good 5.1 speakers, Denon Receiver and a 60 inch 1080i Sony Grand Wega LCD projection TV. It is still pretty sweet, and honestly we haven't felt like updating it yet (hassle).

However we want to add some digital support through either an Android TV set or a Chromecast, and this TV only has a single DVI port (HDMI wasn't available). What are some Android TV sets that would play nice with our existing TV? Currently we have a Blu ray player connected via an HDMI to DVI cable but then have separate audio cables running though the receiver as the player had those ports.

Is there an Android TV box that would be best suited for this type of setup? We aren't ready to upgrade our TV yet to 4K.

Question, do you have a Sound Reciever with HDMI? That might work for you. I don't know of any of the Android TV Boxes that you can use, because they route sound through the HDMI Port. Now if you had a Reciever, like this: VSX-830-K

That might work for you.
