Hi, i'm considering to buy a Nvidia Shield Tv and i want to know how does the Game streaming works. For example if i want to play a Game like NBA 2k16 do i need a Pc that can run it or does the Pc just stores the Game and the Shield runs it? My computer is not powerfull and i need to know this because otherwise i would just buy a ps3.. thanks

Yes, you need a PC that can run the game.

The Shield does not run/play PC games. It's not a PC. The Shield is an Android-based device, so it can play/run Android games.

Game streaming allows you to use the Shield as a middleman device. Your gaming PC would be in another room, but you want to play PC games in your living room without moving the computer. So your PC runs the game and streams the video to your Shield TV in the living room. The Shield TV will send your gamepad inputs back to the PC for controlling the game.

Game streaming works from a PC with Geforce Experience installed, or via the Geforce Now cloud gaming service. In the first instances, your PC plays the game and streams it to your device, with the cloud service, the game runs up on a server in a datacenter, and streams it to your shield tv device.
