Mi Box in Canada?

by _Straight_Answers_

Have we heard ANYTHING yet about availability in Canada

TomEnom

Yes, I"m interested in this too.

The Kodi on Android boxes that are so popular now are pretty horrible software: very old versions of Android with who knows what malware pre-installed and never a single update.

So Mi Box or NVidia Shield TV are likely to be the best options.

Yes please, I'd also like to know what's going on with that

I'm hoping for a Canadian release.

I'm sick of these cheap (or expensive) "Android" boxes that have appeared on amazon.ca.

If it's priced right, no one would want to buy those pieces of crap. $60(US) for an official Android TV with remote/HD Netflix, or $100 for tablet android, and isn't remote friendly, and is limited to 480 on Netflix.

Likely will find out tomorrow 10.3.

Im just interested in if it will be available somewhere like dx.com or amazon.com so i can import it

Yeah desperately need to find out if this thing is available in Canada.

Just did one last search for an Nvidia Shield and because it was out of stock nearly everywhere, they're going for about $400 CAD on amazon when only a month ago it was as low as $259 CAD for the 16gb model. Ridiculous.

I looked up the UPC at Walmart and didn't see anything.

Can you not just buy a USA build Mi box on Amazon and use it? what wouldn't work on the box if you did that?

Don't worry everyone, the information is all there, laid out before you. Simply go to your Amazon Prime Canada digital content hub and search for the "Android TV" channel. There, along with all the other amazing Amazon Prime Canada content, is a full breakdown of the Mi Box release and distribution channel plans. Canada will see rock bottom $169.99 pricing (remote not included) as well as complimentary 12 month subscription to Shomi (not applicable in Quebec).

Enjoy!
