this was mentioned in a few other threads but yup :D
Didn't some reviewers mention studdering and slowness issues with this box?
NEW YORK, Oct. 3, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Leading consumer technology company Xiaomi announced today that it is bringing Mi Box — its 4K Ultra HD streaming media player powered by Google's Android TV — to the U.S. market for $69. Mi Box will be available on Mi.com starting today at 12 p.m. ET, and in Walmart stores as well as Walmart.com in early October. http://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/xiaomi-brings-4k-mi-box-to-the-united-states-for-69-300337940.html
Looks like the Mi Box will only be available from Walmart and directly from Xiaomi. I was hoping this device could really grab some market share for Android TV, and given its aggressive pricing, it should do OK, but I wonder if it can really break through without retail sales from Amazon, Target, Best Buy, etc.
Will it be possible to use an IR remote with this? I use Harmony universal remotes on all my TVs, and I don't want to have to switch between using the Mi Box remote for navigation and using the Harmony remote for everything else (e.g., volume, power, etc.). I'm guessing the Mi Box doesn't have an integrated IR receiver like the Shield does.
I'd plausibly be willing to pay for a FLIRC USB IR receiver, but I'm not sure if it would actually work.
Nice. Will it come with Nougat? Will it compete or be better than the Shield?
