Using Nvidia Shield TV. I sideloaded the PIA app for my VPN. I'm wondering if there is any way to setup a quick launch button on my Harmony remote to launch PIA. I have it setup to turn on automatically when the device starts up. I don't necessarily need it on all the time...only when watching some blacked out sports. I can't add it to my router unfortunately. Thanks.
Sideloaded PIA myself and I find it does the job. My problem is that to change server location in the app, I need the controller to be able to scroll up and down for the right country. Fine for me, but my roomate can't figure it out when she wants to watch tv from her home country.
Anybody know if it is possible to sort the list of countries that comes up?
Is it possible to access the app without going through the sideload launcher?
Prefer VPN over DNS because of the encryption, otherwise that would have of course been a better solution.
I would look into using a DNS service. I used to do what you are doing, but it was so cumbersome and speeds were not reliable. A DNS switch can be made at the router level and won't Mrs with your speeds at all. I have been using adfreetime for the past 2 years of MLB.tv to watch my local team on Android TV. Works flawlessly! 2 bucks a month to avoid blackouts.
