"unfortunately network storage settings has stopped"

by GreenBeret4Breakfast

Has anyone had issues with this error - its driving me crazy? Up until recently my synology NAS mounted perfectly on my Nvidia Shield. Then recently its all gone to hell.

I've previously had my TV shows, Movies mounted fine all under the one smb share "\NAS" (with TV and Movie subfolder). Recently its stopped working - I can manually add "\NAS\TV" and that works but trying to mount "\NAS\Movies" crashes the network storage application with the above error.

I don't know whether its because there's a lot of files in my movies folder or perhaps some screwed up permissions?

I have the same problem with my Western Digital My Could Mirror. Used to work fine. Now crashes storage settings. I've been using the manually mount option as a work around.

So I've managed to fix it, I think. The amount of folders in my Movies folder seemed to be the issue (over 1000 in my movies). I moved them into A, B, C ... folders and that seem to fix. the issue. Hope that helps anyone else who is stuck.
