Just got done stopping by my walmart on the way to work. Employee on duty was the manager for electronics and informed me that they are not to be sold until October 11th and he is about to remove them from the floor until then. Direct notice from corporate.
FYI I just reserved mine for pickup at my local walmart in Aurora, Co on walmart.com. Not sure if they will let me pick it up later today or not, will find out soon.

This is a mess. I wish Xiaomi would have just told us the dates...I would have ordered the boxes I wanted from their website if I would have known how messy the Walmart release would be.
yeah, agree on this, my walmart is holding one for me but told me the same thing. Silly because they PR statement went out yesterday saying it is available but nope, still not

Update: Xiaomi has confirmed that the sell date for all Walmarts is October 7th.

That would also be around the time people that ordered from mi.com would be getting theirs delivered.
FYI, the Xiaomi rep on that sub replied to me saying that the unit will be for sale at WM on Friday.

Its stupid that they would announce an exclusive distribution partner like Walmart, with locations littered across the US without announcing a purchase date. Especially when all the information they provided EVERY media outlet was that it was on sale at Walmart as of the date of the announcement. Poor execution.
