Just a heads up if you install SPMC (Kodi fork) instead of Kodi the voice search will work inside of Kodi. Makes searching for movies and tv shows much easier.

Picked mine up this morning, overall very happy with it as a Nexus Player upgrade on my 1080p bedroom tv. Using a USB Ethernet adapter and Live TV is working great with my hdhomerun.

Really wish I could remove the Mi Box Recommends row ...

Also the remove volume controlls are for an internal volume not an HDMI-CEC command to the TV (not sure why?) and the power button doesn't turn off the tv as well. Wish they made these an option so I could use this as my only remote.

Just tried Plex on it and many of my movies don't work right. Some of the videos skip or freeze and others the video is accelerated. Other apps like Netflix seem to be working.

I showed up at local walmart. Said 2 left in stock. Clerk tells me. It's not on sale yet and didn't even bother looking for it. So I purchased online and waiting for confirmation to pick up.

I'm also having playback problems on Plex. A few titles skip, one hung, a few seemed okay.

I'm connected to an wireless access point about 15 feet away on 5ghz, I hope this gets sorted out quickly, otherwise its going back to Walmart.

On a positive note, the remote is much nicer than the Nexus Player, and ... wait for it ... voice search works!!!

Overall the box feels quicker, and seems to have more contract than the Nexus Player did. I'm on a 1080p TV.

I'll probably keep the two I bought, but feeling a little underwhelmed, coming from both a Nexus Player and Shield. Returning my Shield as I just bought it less than a week ago and don't need all the gaming benefits. And wanting 4k I'm upgrading my NP.

Mi box recommends is flat out annoying. Can't remove or reorder so my link to WatchEspn takes extra long to get to. I have 13 recommendations on one box and 16 on the other. Both on newest version. Don't get it. The one with 13 it's one row and on the other it's two rows.

Unable to get HDR working with my TV, no problem with my Xbox One S.

SPMC wouldn't play my 4K HEVC videos without green artifacts, Kodi and VLC has no problem though.

Bottom line if it weren't for 4K I would keep my NP and look for another and still return the Shield as it's overkill for my needs. But I'm going to hold on and hope there's a dev community that puts out some debloat roms or something.

I'm having issues with HBO Go now as well, a lot of buffering, and then eventually playback hangs. Sometimes I get a nice corrupt mpeg type playback with green blobs etc.

Netflix and Youtube seem good so far.

Installed spmc and it has played literally every file without issue aside from some blinking during DVD iso menus. Excellent!

Also, the cpu usage never went above about 60% for any single core. :)
