I have a 1080P TV. For my Nexus Player I have a RF receiver for my keyboard, USB Ethernet, anda 120GB flash drive for storage. I don't game on my Nexus Player. Is the performance bump compared to the Nexus Player a must have?

I didn't experience any performance update...do you want/need 4K? That'd be the only reason I see. I actually believe the NP on N is faster than the Mi Box navigating around. Opening/closing apps
Picking mine up tonight. Wanted a second box vs Chromecast for the bedroom. Need to decide to move the nexus player upstairs or the Mi Box. I'll see how the weekend goes.
I am in the same boat myself, unsure if I should upgrade. Though I found a few things that do bug me about the nexus player that I might upgrade if this new device can resolve
Which box is better in terms of specs?
I got one yesterday. I agree with others that the overall performance is better but I'm having a problem with setting up an external USB drive as internal storage. It lets me format the drive for internal storage but when I try to migrate the data the settings app crashes. This is not frustrating enough to return it, since I'm assuming it will be fixed with a software update.
Really depends on your tolerance of input lag/load times.
The Mi Box will definitely provide an improvement but whether it's worth it will depend on the individual user.
