Stream audio from Android TV To Android Phone?

So I have an Nvidia Shield TV, and the controller gets audio streamed to it directly so you can listen via headphones. I really don't want to buy the remote just and I don't want to lug the controller with me.

There's a pretty handy Android Remote App for my S7, I was wondering if are there any apps or anyway to get only the audio from my Shield TV to my phone instead?

Unfortunately no. Had this same issue with Chromecast, so many people wanting to use their phone for private listening.

I bought a good pair of Bluetooth headphones for my Nexus Player and Shield. I have been using them for 4 or 5 months and it works great.

I know that doesn't let you use the phone that you already have, but my headphones were about half of the Shield Remote price.
