Mi Box bluetooth controller woes

by star_jump

Hey all, got my Mi Box today. I paired it with my Nyko Pad Pro. Then I put NES.emu and SNES9x on it and fired up some games...

The input lag is horrible. I mean there's "it's annoying but I can deal with it" lag, and then there's unplayable lag, and it's pretty close to unplayable. On the order of a few tens of milliseconds.

My question is, is this a function of the Mi Box, or my (fairly old) Nyko Pad, or is this just a fact of life with android tv? Would getting a newer controller like the NES30 Pro make any kind of difference? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

UPDATE: So yeah, it turns out that the Nyko Pad sucks, and I'm like the last person on earth to find out. I busted out my old 8-bitty controller, a game pad meant to work with IOS and I thought, "surely this won't work." But NES.emu and SNES9x support controllers that work in iCade mode, and what do you know, it works great. There's still a bit of lag, but nothing I couldn't live with, and I was able to perform Shoryukens in SSF2 just fine.

Still, I'd like to get something a little more modern. Any recommendations? I'm looking for any reason to pull the trigger and buy the NES30 Pro.

I picked up a Mi controller off eBay and like it a lot. It's styled like a 360 controller.
