I'll guarantee the user interface is Chinese, it doesn't support Google Play Store and it will never play Netflix streams at greater than SD resolution. Other than that, it's a powerful box. Been around since November 2015.
i dont mind getting older tech if it means im getting a cheap Android tv device.
Someone had created a hack for the original box that gave it English, let's hope someone does the same for this.
They are a government backed company in China, I can care less. The Mi Box is a fantastic piece of hardware. I'm planning on buying a shield for the living room, but this box performs solidly on my 1080p TV in the den. it's perfect for the kids.
All right I know this is kind of disappointing and the model, which is called "Mi Box 3s", is sold for 399RMB~$60 in China, and is advertised as overall 100% faster in performance than Mi Box 3, which is the Mi Box sold in the US now (~$50 USD in China).
Even if you don't read Chinese you can see some specs and comparison from the charts they put on the product page.
