There may be a Kodi add-on for live TV Chinese channels. I'd check there.
The right way to do that is to install 3rd party apks manually. I just installed HDP-TV and it works perfectly.

Buy the China version of the Mi Box on Aliexpress. This won't have Google Play Store though but it would have the apps. If I needed this function, I would keep two boxes =))
Yes in the REKODI repo of PuppetMaster.TV there is a World News plugin that contains Chinese sources including CCTV/CNTV. If you can point me to more sources of content I would be happy to try and add them.
It is hard to tell, your best chance will be to visit the play store inside androidTV
I know NHK World exists for android TV, but last i checked, there is no live channel integration.
unsure about stuff like Channel News Asia, CCTV,CNTV,Arirang,KBS World they might be a sideload job.
