Anyway to remove the "Mi Box Recommends" on Mi Box Homescreen?

by lonaysta

Just set up my Mi Box and am pleased to see it works as expected for most parts. However, compared to the Nexus Player, there is a two-row section of "Mi Box Recommends" on homescreen. Is there any way to remove these two rows of apps?

Also btw, what is the best easy-to-use, clean, bug free sideload launcher you are using?

Yep. Settings->Apps->System apps. Scroll all the way to the right and it should be either the last item or close to it. Click XiaomiLeanbackCustomizer, then Disable. Reboot and just like that, it's gone.

No clue on a launcher though. I just got this a couple days ago and I haven't really gotten a chance to tinker with it a whole lot.

Anyone figure out how to do it & still get VLC to display elsewhere? It's basically a system app for me & wont display anywhere but that damn reco row..?

We're you able to pick this up at Walmart? I tried 2 days ago and all around me they had em but couldn't sell them. Tried today and it seemed noone knew what I was talking about.

You can keep the apps you have installed on your home screen without disabling the XiaomiLeanbackCustomizer by just turning off the notifications for that app

Has anyone found that the solution post (disable XiaomiLeanbackCustomizer) doesn't actually remove recommended apps? Mine shows up regardless ... even after reboot.

Is there a way to get back the "recommended apps" ??? I accidentally did a complete reset and after the reboot I am only able to see Netflix and redbullTV in recommended apps list . Earlier I had complete 2 rows ( VUDU,CBS,HULU ..etc ) . I need those apps back as I got $75 worth free content when i order my mibox . Kindly, help me out ?? Unable to find above mentioned apps on google play store as well !!!
