Mi Box

by cavanaughphoto

I picked up a Mi box on Friday from Walmart. I applied the software update right away. Everything seems pretty solid except for when I was able to set up a Sandisk 32GB flash drive as internal storage but whenever I try to migrate data to the drive the settings app crashes before the data transfer even starts. I was wondering if anyone else was having the same issue.

I tried a SanDisk Ultra Fit 128GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive and a PNY Turbo 32GB USB (I think 3.0) USB Flash Drive. They both formatted fine, but "Settings" would crash before successfully formatting them as internal (Marshmallow adoptive) storage. That was my #1 draw to this device as my Gen 1 Fire TV is always running out of space.

If someone is using adoptive storage, I would love to know exactly which usb drive you're using. Thanks!

I'm having the exact same issue. The whole system worked on my nexus player but it doesn't seem to here. Supposedly apps that I downloaded where on the USB storage but it was taking space away from my internal memory. At one point I ran out of space on my internal memory (despite the apps supposedly being on the external storage) and I get getting force close issues on google play services, until I deleted the apps. I'm kind of annoyed as 5.2GB of free space is not much.

Mine hasn't arrived yet, but are you able to test a different flash drive?

Is there any updates on this issue? Because it is no chance to stream big videos from torrents through KODI. Connected USB 3 stick/HDD formatted as ExFAT is terrible slow for buffering which makes it just useless. :-(
