I just picked up a Mi Box and am watching 4k YouTube videos on my TV at 4k 60hrz and see a lot of dropped frames. It appears as lag and is noticeable when watching someone talk and their lips don't match the audio. Anyone else have this issue or thoughts on the problem? I'm thinking I may return it and get the shield or wait for the shield version 2.
I see my Mi Box dropping YouTube frames on 720p and 1080p 60fps too. Weird that Twitch 1080p60 is smooth.
I don't own a Mi Box, but I'm curious how fast your internet speed is.
Get the Shield, it's really honestly the better device. It can do more than the MiBox can and not just because the hardware is better. You simply get more with the Shield than the mibox.
Enable stats for nerds in the YouTube app on mi box and you will see that it's not 4k 60, mi box currently doesn't support 4k 60 on youtube
