If you're talking about those Kodi boxes that run the Android touchscreen OS, then don't bother with talking about those things in this subreddit. We only discuss the official Android TV platform in here.
Mi box. Shield is for gaming, just get a mi box. People talk about the shield outperforming it but dang kodi isn't that heavy of an app. I've had zero lag and everything works super nicely. Better than expected, as kodi on my pc is so slow. Definitely get it. Better support than minix and its legitimate Google Android TV.
You only have 3 in that price range.
Nexus Player (original price of $99, but hard to find anymore) Razer Forge (Don't get it at all) MiBox (your best bet).
Honestly, the best box to run Kodi on is the Shield TV period. It's the best, but you pay a premium price. But it's still going to out perform all of those boxes by a wide margin.
