Why no HBO-Go for Comcast/Xfinity users?

by seenhear

This is really strange to me. Why in the world would Comcast subscribers be locked out of HBO-Go for Android TV, but not on an Android phone, or XBox One, etc? What's going on here? Part of the HBO experience that I pay for is HBO-Go, so I feel like I'm getting ripped off.

Who's blocking this? Is it Comcast's doing, or Android/Google, or HBO? Really annoying. I know there are work-arounds (casting from phone) but I hate casting. I'd own a chromecast if I liked casting as a primary way to watch shows on my tv.

Because Comcast are assholes, that is why. It took them 3 years to finally support Roku.

Comcast wants you to use their shitty cable box/on demand for HBO so they drag their feet on everything that gives you more options. That's why I cancelled HBOgo and got HBOnow.

Do what I do, cancel your TV service and subscribe to HBO Now.

They don't support very many GO apps for Android at all

It's Comcast. They're blocking PS3/PS4 too.

osiris355

Comcast fucking sucks. They should be avoided at all costs. I would rather pay more than support them

Comcast is the company that moved Country Music Television to an additional pay sports package because they weren't happy with the parent company.

Comcast is run by a bag of dicks.

AFRUITPIE

Why would you be pissed at Comcast for that? They're giving you a whole Terabyte™!

Anyone know if you can sideload the Xfinity TV app on Android TV? Let alone HBO, why is there no official Comcast TV app?

I noticed this happened for Food Network and Time Warner for me. It works on my Apple TV/Fire stick but when I try to log in on the Mi Box it doesn't list TWC or Spectrum as a provider.
